Leadership
Biblical Eldership
The bible uses the term Elder to describe the men who lead the church (in our culture we use “pastor”) These are men who are biblically qualified according to 1 Tim 3 and Titus 1
The best way to describe them is “under shepherds”. There is one, and only one Chief Shepherd, who is Jesus Christ. He is the one who has been given all authority and has purchased His church with His blood. Local church elders operate as shepherds to God’s people (caring for them, protecting them, directing them, praying for them, “gospeling” them, etc.) who are under the authority of the Chief Shepherd.
