Get Connected

How can I get connected in community at Mercy Hill?
The best way to meet people and build real friendships at Mercy Hill is to join up with a Community Group. These are groups of people that attend church together, share meals together, pray together, study the Bible together, go to movies together, etc. Our Gospel Communities use a social networking website called The City to stay connected and share their lives. To sign up for The City go to mercyhilldayton.onthecity.org. To request more information on Community Groups, email: community@mercyhilldayton.org

At Mercy Hill, we value membership, and encourage you to pursue membership whether you plan to be here for 1 year or 10 years.

There are three main steps toward becoming a member:

  • Attend the Membership Class. The Membership Class is taught over two days where we’ll unpack the gospel identity of MHC and what it means to be a gospel-centered missional community.
  • Meet with an elder. This informal meeting is designed to give you an opportunity to ask any questions that have remain unanswered, while also creating a familiarity between you and an elder.
  • Sign the Membership Covenant. You will receive the Membership Covenant at the Membership Class and can submit it after meeting with an elder.

Why do we think church membership is so important?
When you decide to enter the covenant of membership at MHC, you’re not only identifying yourself as part of the Mercy Hill Church body, but you’re committing to actively participating in this church body. This doesn’t simply mean serving on Sundays and being involved with a Community Group (though we hope you’re doing these things!). It means caring for and considering the welfare of this church. The church, on the flip-side, promises to care for you, pray for you, and help you grow spiritually.
