Gatherings
We worship and respond to what God has done in Christ when we come together in two different “gatherings”. The first is where we come together to celebrate the gospel and worship God through scripture reading, song, preaching, communion, and baptism. The second gathering is where we “scatter” into smaller groups called Community Groups. These take place in homes all over Dayton at various times throughout the week.
These gatherings are for the purpose of making disciples. At the weekend gathering we open our Bibles and hearts and hear God’s word proclaimed to us. When we get together at our Community Groups that week, we discuss that same scripture further and seek to work out the convictions that were created from the Holy Spirit’s work through the sermon.
With both the conviction of gospel from the weekend gathering and the incarnation of the gospel in community groups, the gospel does its work both in us and through us.
As we journey together in this process of growing in our knowledge and love for God, we invite others to come along and journey with us.
